Bowling Party!
The Polar Express Movie and all things train's has the imagination of my nephew who turned 6 this month. I was pitching him ideas for an American Ninja Warrior cake but he loves his train's and opted for a Polar Express Themed Cake. I did my best for the mountain and made it out of Rice Krispies. His Bowling party was supper fun. I got to bowl with the bumpers up and finally broke a 100! Looking at the pictures we took, my nephew's feet were rarely on the ground... He was jumping and running for almost the entire time. Lots of Fun!
Yeah! Happy Birthday!

Pooka Monkey's Birthday
It's been a little while since I've made a cake, and I didn't have to bake a thing for this one... My Niece specifically requests brownies (which Shoprite makes for me... ), this gives me more time for my favorite part, decorating! After a few consultations we settled on the idea of a monkey sitting on top of a mountain of banana's. We saw a few fun ideas on Pinterest. I had strict instructions to make sure the money was cute... O.K.... To avoid a cake fail I used Styrofoam ball, covered them in fondant and followed this tutorial on a new cake site I just discovered... It was really helpful. Enjoy the pics of the assembly and party...
The cake reveal... She liked it :)

Mom's Surprise 70th
We celebrated all things "Mom" at her surprise 70th Birthday Bash. She has been an Elvis Fan since his first 45 was released, so it was only appropriate that I figured out a way to incorporate him into a cake design. This cake is a combination of a few different cakes I found on pinterest. I spent a good amount of time rolling fondant thin, projecting an image I found on the internet onto the fondant and cutting, cutting, cutting. The profile was the hardest to get right on the cake. The cake itself was styrofoam dummies. It was WAY to hot to make actual cake and travel for the delivery. I would have had a cake wreck and frazzled nerves... I'm learning...

Emoji Birthday
A very lovable, talented, adventurous and awesome niece of mine turned 12 recently... The cake order was Emoji with a twist. She did her own independent research and came across these little beauties from Anne Reardon's Website. Anne made her emoji's out of cheesecake- So this Aunt ventured outside of her comfort zone and made mini cheesecakes to accompany the Marble cake. Taking a poll of the 8-12 Year Olds that I know- they all didn't know what Marble cake was at first... Interesting right? Had to explain it was chocolate and vanilla swirled together... Learn something new every day...
All the Emjoi pieces ready to go on top of their cheese cakes...

Not sure you can get much cutter then this.... Unless you are my niece or nephew of course...
Her dress is made from her mom's wedding dress along with the green accents of one of her best friend's bridesmaid dress. Nora's amazing mom had shoes made out of her other best friend's bridesmaid dress... So awesome!

Baby llama
It was a llama baby shower today! I had fun trying to figure out how to draw a llama :) I used the picture from the invite to make royal icing accents for the cake and cookies. It was a great afternoon with a lovely group of amazing women- just what I needed... Ready to take on the week!
