Peace love and Pandas

Another one of my nieces turned 10 years old! We celebrated by some family friendly competitive bowling...   My niece choose the panda theme for her cake.  The bamboo is made out of vanilla and lemon easter colored tootsie rolls. The bamboo stems are edible easter grass.  The panda and rocks are made out of fondant.  I pulled out my air brush set and painted the cake green instead of dying the fondant.  The water fountain is colored white chocolate.    Here are some pics of the assembly:

I forgot to lay the bamboo over the panda's arms when I set up the cake... In stead I attached it to the side as an extra bamboo tree- oops...

Minion 1st Birthday

Had a super fun time making the cake and goodies for this little cuties 1st birthday.  His family are super awesome party planners and go above and beyond to make a fun party.  The best part of making the treats for this birthday was the team effort.  His family came over one Sunday and helped decorate the cookies and cake pops. I supplied the recipe and they finished the decorating.    Special thanks to this website for the cake inspiration.

Norton Wedding

I said to myself after I was finished my first wedding cake "I wouldn't do that again"... Clearly I'm a women of my word :)   My co-worker got married last weekend and floated the idea of making her wedding cake months before the planning started, I could have backed out- but I didn't.  I think I was ready for the challenge again even thought it makes me really nervous.  My co-workers was very easy to work with and essentially gave me free reign in the design.  I researched wafer paper flowers for her cake.  They are actually pretty easy to work with and look really pretty.  I took this craftsy class and watched the videos on mycakeschool.com as well as many other websites I looked at to help me figure these things out.   I also make sugar cookies for my co-worker's dessert table as well.  Picture of the assembly and final product below.  Enjoy!

The bottom cakes were styrofoam dummies, the top two were real cake.  I made sheet cakes for the staff to cut in the back.
